PARAGLIDING Accuracy Landing LOCAL REGULATION FOR PGAWC China 2024

b)Altitude: 180 meters AGL
c)How to arrive:
By plane: fly into Wuhan International airport ,China. Organizer can organize transport from this airport for all pilots and international staff.

5)Number of Tasks & Schedule
a)Minimum rounds: 1 rounds ,Maximum rounds: 8 rounds
b)One official practice round will be run before the competition. The score of the practice round will be calculated in case of the terrible weather, do not permit fly min. 1 competition round.
c)Maximum number of rounds is 8 and will be announced during general briefing on event depending on weather condition and number of participants.
Individual score:
- All pilots will fly 5 rounds.
- 6 th Round will fly only 40 best pilots.
- 7 th Round only 30 best pilots.
- 8 th Round only 20 best pilots in reverse order.
- Pilots who not fly 6,7,8 Round will be disqualified (DSQ) in the scoring list and granted without scores.

First 10 pilots , according to final overall ranking list ,will be refunded for airplane ticket economy class to Wuhan and back.
7)Entry & Number of Pilots
a)Max. number of pilot is 48, the selection will goes first to Top 3 teams of each 2024PGAWC competition, then to the top 12 teams after the five competitions, then go to the individuals according to the overall rank of PGAWC for 2024 year after 15th of September.
8)Registration
a)On arrival, pilot report to registration office to have their document checked and to receive supplementary regulation and information.
b)The End the registration is considered to be the official start of the competition.
9)Pilot documentation required
a)PGAWC ID card.

c)3rd part Insurance
10) Equipments
Each pilot must be equipped with:
a) Gliders who has passed EN/DHV (or international recognized certifying body).
b) Harness with back protection.
c) Reserve parachute (passed EN / DHV or test certification body).
d) Standard Helmet (recommended certified EN966(HPG))
11) Priority or launch order
a)All pilots will be entered in a draw to determine priority or launch order.
b)When the final round of the competition is called, pilots should launch in reverse order of their current competition position.
c)The organizer will provide numbers for each pilot which must be displayed on paraglider in the middle of leading edge.
12) Pilots Briefing
a) There will be a daily briefing for pilots morning at take off.
b) Briefings may be postponed or reconvened in the event of bad weather, and times will be announced and posted on the notice board. All pilots, team leaders and other personnel should attend briefings promptly.
13) Take Off
a) At the Launch Marshall & Safety Officer direction, a pilot may be temporarily or permanently withdrawn from the competition if he/she appears unable to launch safely in wind and weather condition that fall within operating limits.
b) A failed take-off attempt or safety problem out of control of the pilot arising immediately after take-off which result in a landing at take-off, or away from the target, will be eligible for a re-launch for that round when allowed by Launch Marshal.
c) Competitors must follow the priority or launch order.
d)All pilots must have the possibility to take off during the window opening (including extension).
e)The average launch interval is 1 pilot / 1.5minute can be adjusted by launch marshal if needed.
f)Pilots are responsible to be ready at take off area on competition day.
g)If a pilot not present at take off area after being called 3 times, He will be mark as DNF and given the highest score for the round.
14) Flying time
a) Pilot should land approximately in the same order as take off.
b) Pilots must fly to the target as soon as they have enough height.
15) Final Approach (landing accuracy)
Competitors should be afforded a fair attempt at a target landing. They should have sufficient time during the flight to reach the target area directly from launch, to make a considered final approach to the target.
16) Landing for accuracy
a)Competitors will be scored according to the distance in centimeters between the first point of ground contact with their body and the edge of the dead center disc to a maximum score of 200 cm.
b)There Will be clear mark at 0.5m, 2m and 10M circles on landing area.
c)The clear marked area between 2 and 10 m. NOT FALING area. If pilot landing inside 2 m. but fall before 10 m. he will given a maximum score.
d)Landing must be made on the feet. Falling is not allowed and a maximum score will be recorded, if the competitors fall.
e)Fall means if any part of the body or equipment (excluding speed bar and foot rest) touches the ground before the wing does.
f)A pilot landing outside the target area must report to the Judging Team as soon as possible. Failure to do so may invalidate any claim for a re-flight.
17) Maximum wind speed
a)The maximum wind speed is 7 m/s, due to safety reason.
18) Signals for landing Accuracy
a)The official signal for pilots in the air to fly away from the target for safety reasons will be the waving of a red signal flag by event judge in the measuring field or by an order from the radio.
19) Scoring
a)Individual scores for accuracy will be the sum of all scores achieved by the competitor. When five or more valid rounds are completed, the worst score is dropped.
b)The winner for accuracy will be the pilot gaining the lowest score.
20) Judging
Judging Team
a)Five judges will be present all the time during round. The Chief Judge must not be from domestic country Rest of judges will be qualified persons appointed by the organizer consist of three different nations. They will have experience of judging at international Paragliding Accuracy competitions.
b)In addition there should be more further suitably qualified members of the judging team.
21) Safety Committee
a)A safety committee will be appointed. At the first briefing, a safety Committee will be formed. It is recommended the Safety Committee includes: Meet Director (or his deputy), Launch Marshall (or Deputy), Chief Judge, and minimum of two international experienced participating pilots.
22) Emergency Procedures
Emergency doctor and an ambulance with appropriate equipment will be available during all operations.
23) Radio Transceivers
a)Every pilot may fly with radio VHF (2 meters radio)
b)Radios are not to be used for the purpose of providing advantageous competitive information, for coaching. Only safety, organization, teams frequencies allocated by the organizers must be used.
24) Complaints and protests
Complaints and Protests will be dealt with according to the procedures in Section 7C and General Section. A complaint may be made to the Chief Judge or his deputy. It should be made with the minimum delay and it will be dealt with expeditiously.
If the complainant is not satisfied with the outcome, the pilot may make a protest written in English and give to the Meet Director or his deputy.
The time limit for protests is 2 hours after notification of the result of the complaint. The protest fee is € 50. It will be returned if the protest is upheld.
If provisional scores are posted more than 2 hours after sunset and before 6.00 am next day, then the deadline for a complaint is 08.00 am.
25) Priority in the air
Pilot must follow strictly the priority rules.
26) Other Rules
Specific regulations or changes will be announced at every day’s briefing.
27) Penalty
Dangerous flying:
First offence: formal warning.
Second offence: maximum score for the round.
Third offence: exclusion from the competition.
The Chief Judge and Launch Marshal shall liaise with the Safety Director and the Competition Director to report incidences of dangerous flying.
Other rule infringements: As for dangerous flying.

a)Reimburse the flight tickets for the top 3 teams and top 10 individuals according to the ranking after 5 PGAWC competions.
B)Registration Fee: 100 euro per pilot during registration.
All pilots and international staff will be support with accommodation and food during competition from 17th – 21th October and transport from and to Wuhan airport for free.
